Experiencing Data Access Issue in Azure Portal for Many Data Types – 01/10 – Resolved

We've confirmed that all systems are back to normal with no customer impact as of 01/10 22:10 UTC. Our logs show the incident started on 01/10 21:35 UTC and during that 35 minutes window ~4% customers might have seen data access issues.
  • Root Cause: The failure was due to an internal service not able to read the required configurations.
  • Incident Timeline: 35 mins - 01/10 21:35 UTC through 01/10 22:10 UTC

We understand that customers rely on Application Insights as a critical service and apologize for any impact this incident caused.

We are aware of issues within Application Insights and are actively investigating. Some customers may experience Data Access Issue in Azure Portal. The following data types are affected: Availability,Customer Event,Dependency,Exception,Metric,Page Load,Page View,Performance Counter,Request,Trace.
