Issues with Visual Studio Team Services – Multiple features that use directory services (AAD graph) are affected in West Europe North Central US and Central US- 10/24 – Mitigated

We’ve confirmed that all systems are back to normal as of October 24th 2017 13:35 UTC. 3.4% of customers experienced slow calls to our directory services in the West Europe, North Central US, and Central US during the incident. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We're working with our Azure Active Directory (AAD) partners to understand root cause.

Our directory services Azure Active Directory (AAD) calls are slower than usual. This impacts multiple features of VSTS that leverage AAD, such as the identity picker, marketplace, and subscriptions. Users may observe that calls in these feature areas are slower than usual. AAD graph is used to lookup identities and group memberships.

At this time we see that users were impacted in the West Europe, North Central US, and Central US regions.

Impact started at October 24th 2017 12:35 UTC. We see that AAD requests have started coming back to normal as of 13:35 UTC.
