Today's MIEE Spotlight looks at Elliot Percival, Teacher of Computing Science at The Whitehaven Academy. Elliot uses Office 365 tools daily in his classroom to communicate and collaborate with students, colleagues and parents.
Elliot is passionate about the impact OneNote Class Notebook has had on the teaching and learning in his classroom. It has provided a unique experience of sharing course resources and the ability to give real time feedback to his GCSE and A Level students at the touch of a button. This has allowed Elliot's students to access all of this from their mobile devices! His students are able to track their progress and submit assessment evidence easily, to ensure they are meeting the Success Criteria given by Elliot. Having this all in the one place has made the learning journey a more fluid experience.
Elliot has also made great head way with Computer Science in his classroom by giving his students the opportunity to use Kodu Game Lab. This has enabled his students to develop games and simulations that they wouldn't be able to do before. Some of his Year 7's have coded and used the Micro:Bits to control their games!
