Today's MIEE Spotlight takes a look at the practice of David Kynes, Head of Science at Myddelton College in Wales. David is passionate about using technology to allow his young people to thrive in the 21st Century and ever changing future. He sets out to inspire his students daily, as well as his fellow teachers.
At Myddelton College, they have fully embraced the 21st Century Learning Design Framework as part of their Curriculum. Using tools like the recording feature in PowerPoint as part of the 'Flipped Learning' model with their students, gives the teachers the ability to see the analytics of the student's assessment to make the next steps in learning more accurately.
David has also utilised the power of Sway in his classroom to enable his students to create professional presentations to record and display their learning, which can easily be shared with a real life audience. He also uses OneNote Class Notebook to replace traditional textbooks and workbooks, allowing his students to access class resources anytime, anywhere and from any device! Creating a truly integrated experience for the young people at Myddleton College.
